SAYES PRODUCT CARE
The most significant element for us as a responsible company is longevity and quality: we want to make products that people will enjoy for decades to come. Therefore, we encourage our customers to treat their pieces with care and consideration.
Every inch of Sayés leather goods and canvas fabrics have been meticulously handcrafted. The essential elements that have altered this craft into these forms are; quality, craftsmanship, time, detail, creativity and commitment. Every single piece of Sayés is an expression of passion, detailedness and technique. Our products are the result of authentic and well-designed works of the finest artisans who have decades of experience passed on from generation onto another, they should be treated with great care and love. Our products are the result of extensive research of the perfect materials. Slight variations in leathers are entirely normal for the type of calf leathers used by Sayés.
All types of leather, canvas fabrics and other delicate materials (including metal accessories) may suffer from humidity. Humidity, salt and atmospheric agents in general can cause permanent and irreversible wear and tear. Therefore, please take care to avoid rain and direct contact with heat, oil, grease (make up), alcohol (perfume solvents) and other abrasive products and surfaces as Sayés cannot assume responsibility for the eventual deterioration, modification and mishandling of our products.
Everyday care and thoughtful storage will go a long way in maintaining the life of your favourite leather accessories, however specific products may require different care techniques.
Avoid contact with any materials which may transfer their colour pigments onto our products.
Always store your product in the dust bag provided when not in use.
Soft Calf Leather
Soft Calf Leather is a relatively strong leather and as a natural material, can age with time and use and may alter in colour due to usage and exposure to light. This is seen as the natural aging of this beautiful material and should not be considered as a defect. It can become marked with wear and as with all leather products, needs to be cared for to maintain its optimum condition.
Do not use any cleaning products and avoid scratching as excessive abrasion as the texture cannot be repaired once damaged. We recommend using professional services for proper care of your bag.
By taking time to care for your leather, you will uphold the value and maintain the appearance of your most treasured pieces.
Storing your leather appropriately is one of the easiest ways you can prevent damage and maintain a high-quality finish:
- Store leather away from direct sunlight as this can cause fading
- Store handbags in a dust bag to avoid scratches
- Avoid using plastic bags, they prevent good ventilation
- Store leather away from artificial sources of heat, e.g. radiators can cause leather to dry and crack.
